Mayor's Visit (7th October 2016)
We were very pleased and excited to host a visit by the Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Mike Robinson who joined us for our morning assembly. This was a follow-up to a visit some of our Year 6 pupils made to Birmingham Airport for a Business on the Move challenge event (see previous entry here).
Marshall Godwin, one of our pupils ‘made the most profit’ during the event and was presented with an engraved glass trophy to mark this achievement. He was also given a copy of the board game that was used at the event.
The assembly was also attended by Ms L Rodway, who organised the event; Ms D Pearce and Ms J Shaw, who work for John Lewis and were supporting our Year 6 pupils during the event; Ms C Godwin, Marshall’s mother, Ms S Godwin, Marshall’s aunt and Mrs J O’Brien, Marshall’s carer.
These photos (across) show how proud we all were of Marshall.
Mayor Robinson and Ms L Rodway were then given a guided a tour of the school by Mr T Scott, including the opportunity to talk with a number of pupils within both Primary and Secondary parts of the school. Chad Cheslin joined us and conducted the final part of the tour, culminating in the chance for him to pose with Mayor Robinson in front of his official car.
Very many thanks to all our visitors on the day for making it such a special one for Marshall and thanks to all the people involved in the original event on the 21st July 2016.
